Purpose

To develop and maintain the Group’s technical pricing framework and ensure it is applied consistently.

Job Role Accountabilities

  • Ensure product pricing is robust and supports the achievement of the Group’s financial objectives, through development and review of the Group Pricing Framework and its supporting documents.
  • Ensure appropriate oversight and timely management information to monitor compliance with the framework.
  • Develop and maintain any Group Pricing owned tools, data and processes in compliance with group Model Risk, EUC and other Just Group standards.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and central point of contact for the group pricing framework and its related documents.
  • Lead the Group Pricing team, developing the skills and capabilities of team members and encouraging effective collaboration.
  • Support the Group Chief Actuary with regard to the Solvency 2 opinion on the adequacy of pricing
  • Contribute to other Group Chief Actuary work as allocated
  • Maintain own competence and personal development.

  • Maintain awareness of legislative changes and product developments by undertaking CPD

  • Maintain up to date knowledge on our market, working practices and policies: complete e learning training on a regular basis including mandatory modules in financial crime prevention, information security, regulatory environment, complaints handling and whistleblowing.
  • Develop competence: to focus on continuous improvement of your personal competence and professional development and support your colleagues and their continuous improvement where possible.
  • Risk: understand and work within the company’s risk framework, reporting risk events and breaches in line with Just’s Procedures.

Qualifications

Qualified FIA, FFA or equivalent

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of risk management and of financial reporting and capital requirements under IFRS and Solvency II
  • Strong understanding of the products and services provided by the Group, their risks and their capital requirements
  • Good knowledge of the industry and markets the Group operates in (pensions, annuities and equity release)
  • Good understanding of the operating systems and processes within the Group
  • Ability and drive to maintain competence and up to date knowledge
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management
  • Ability to lead and influence others
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel / VBA, with Python, Mo.net and Access / SQL experience advantageous Experience
  • Experience in the UK life industry
  • Pricing and product development experience of annuities, term assurance and/or lifetime mortgages
  •  Experience in managing or mentoring junior team members
