Purpose

As a Senior Developer at Just Group plc, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing software solutions that drive our business forward. Utilising a range of Microsoft technologies, both on-premises and in the cloud with Azure, you will help lead our development efforts to deliver high-quality, secure, and compliant applications. This role demands a balance of technical prowess, leadership skills, and an understanding of the financial services industry’s regulatory environment.

Job Role Accountabilities

  • Manage and contribute to project and change initiative deliverables, maintaining responsibility for the software development lifecycle.

  • Document system architecture, design decisions, and development processes

  • Promote continuous improvement by staying abreast of technology trends and applying industry best practices.

  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and data security policies.

Examples of Key Activities

  • Design and deliver robust software solutions using Microsoft technologies spanning on-premises and Microsoft Azure

  • Lead CI/CD initiatives by implementing and managing pipelines in Azure DevOps.

  • Optimize applications for performance, security, and scalability

  • Collaborate with teams to define requirements, integrate systems, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

  • Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and uphold best practices

Experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft stack: .NET framework, VB, C#, ASP.NET, Entity Framework, and Microsoft SQL Server

  • Experience with Azure: Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL Database.

  • Skilled in Azure DevOps: for source control, project management, and automated deployments.

  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes in Azure environments.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be desirable.

  • Agile methodology: adept in agile delivery methodologies and tools.

  • Financial services industry experience: familiar with compliance and risk management.

  • Proven project delivery: a portfolio showcasing technical expertise and innovation

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is essential

  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft technologies and Azure are highly desirable

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: capable of tackling complex software development challenges.

  • Communication and leadership: able to lead teams and engage with stakeholders effectively.

  • Adaptability: quick to learn and apply new technologies and practices.
