Purpose
To provide high calibre and proactive sales support to the Commercial Team in order to maximise effectiveness of the Commercial and the Defined Benefits team and ensure achievement of team targets.


Job Role Accountabilities 

  • To provide logistical support to Business Development team – and in particular lead on the initial review of the RFQ’s  in the process for agreeing/declining quotations
  • Support the business development managers, Head of Trustee Relationships and Head of Reinsurance on external calls, ensuring good quality understanding of the meetings.
  • Assist and support the process for smaller schemes and EBC accounts
  • To assist in the pre and post quotation process and work towards owning deals independently
  • To start the process on PRA forms such that compliance is adhered to when deals are won.
  • To keep up to date, relevant and developed to meet clients needs,  the presentations for beauty parades, trustee meetings, conferences and other events as required. To include producing briefing packs for the meetings and general intelligence of prospect business.
  • Support the Head of Marketing on events/conferences/material as required
  • To organise and attend meetings for the Commercial team, with relevant individuals at EBC’s, professional trustees, existing clients and potential future clients – again providing briefing packs for all the meetings.
  • Support the delivery of the monthly MI, collating the teams MI pages ready for the SMC.
  • Provide support for all the Business Development Managers in respect of MI requirements of the team – e.g. current pipeline and expected RFQ’s
  • Support the delivery and then maintenance of the CRM system – including testing and then keeping up to date as required.
  • Building relationships internally and externally to support the DB business goals
  • Assist in ensuring competitor analysis is continually up to date, including understanding the latest transactions that our competitors have completed.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills – with the ability to communicate information across different
  • media (e.g., telephone, letter, e-mail)
  • Knowledge of Defined Benefit Schemes and the de-risking market to support those schemes.
  • Ability to liaise at all levels internally and externally
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and quality
  • Problem analysis skills
  • Ability to self-organise to achieve objectives within timescales
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation
  • Excellent IT skills including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel

Experience

  • Defined benefit experience and knowledge of derisking market
