Purpose
We are currently looking for someone to join our expanding Investment Team as nearly or newly qualified Investment Actuary.
In this role you will be supporting modelling workstreams to maintain and refine tools used for risk management in particular credit risk to support medium and long term risk management strategies for asset investment, pricing new assets acquired both public and private, and optimising capital and balance sheet positions to manage the inflow of assets and liabilities in a capital efficient manner giving considerations to medium term investment strategy, cashflow matching, short and long term liquidity and large transactions whether asset or liability side, including pre-investment of anticipated DB schemes.
Skills and experiences required for this role :
- Nearly (2-3 specialist exams away) / newly qualified actuary or CFA preferred.
- Relevant experiences within Financial Services, Asset valuation/reporting, Insurance Investment or Investment Consulting.
- Good working knowledge of assets modelling and valuation, fundamental investing knowledge, with the ability and interest to develop further, and investment function knowledge of a life assurer is essential.
- Proficiency in Python and Excel is essential.
- Good understanding of the implication of either SII (SUK) or IFRS17 on assets investment
- Strong IT skills with the ability to think independently and hit the ground running by proposing and implementing solutions.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present investment matters to laymen.
- Excellent team-working skills and capability to maintain relationship within internal stakeholders and develop relationship with external parties.
- Strong results focus, with ability to work efficiently and grasp concepts that are not straightforward; yet seek guidance where necessary.
