Summer Interns

We are pleased to offer a summer internship programme across all areas of our business. Our internship programme offers opportunities to learn more about Just, how we work and career options available to all.

We are delighted to partner with the 10,000 Black Interns and the 10,000 Able interns programmes in our search for interns.

Ethan Renshaw – DB Commercial Intern

Coming into Just with a degree outside your typical STEM degree into finance, I was worried I would not be able to tangibly contribute. However, this was far from the case. From delivering initial thoughts to the team on bulk annuity buy-out’s to get involved in various DE&I projects, my internship at Just group has not only introduced me to the world of pension and financial services. But provided me with the confidence, resilience, and ability to succeed in any career I may pursue.

Whether it be the day-to-day catch-up’s with my dedicated line manager and ‘buddy’ or sit down coffee chats with Managing Directors. Just has given it there best to ensure I have developed a plethora of relationships during my time here. What is unique however, is the ability to network outside of my initial department. At the beginning of the internship we was delivered lots of training sessions from different sides of the business, not only did this let me meet various people outside my initial department but also allowed me to network with the other intern’s as well as we made friendships that allowed us all to help one another and learn even more.

My most memorable experience during my summer internship has been when I got to deliver a presentation on social mobility with the DE&I team at just to the entire Defined Benefit area of the business. Delivering a presentation to over 100+ people has not only improved my presentation skills but has allowed me to showcase an area I am truly passionate in and clearly so is Just. From my time here I have witnessed how management and the wider team are laser focused on promoting DE&I, from volunteering in social schools to working groups and focus groups in each team, employees are encouraged to raise awareness of topics close to them and the ability to do so on my internship with such an enormous crowd is definitely something I’ll remember from my time here.

Temiloluwa Adeoye – DB Transition Intern

The workplace at Just strikes a balance between fun and work, everyone is friendly. I was able to learn a lot about Just and specifically about DB where I interned under transitions. My manager was very helpful in answering questions I had and so was everyone, regardless of if they were on my team or not. I had no knowledge of DB when I started at just but as my internship comes to an end it is safe to say I can give an explanatory presentation of the process.

I have been able to talk and build relationships with senior level managers from different areas at just and Hub group, I learnt about them and all they have been through from the start of their careers to their time at Just. I had the opportunity to meet people my age who help me with real life advice on things they have been through and how they overcame it.

The transitions team have helped me make good work and life choices, they are always there when I have questions and have never for once made me feel different or not knowledgeable the way I see myself. They have honestly added to my self-esteem and confidence level, even when I made mistakes, they helped me see it can be solved and learnt from.

The fact that I was able to contribute to helping people achieve a better later life was very special to me.
