Fixed term contract for 12 months

About the role

The purpose of the Senior Business Analyst is to help Just make informed decisions and deliver valuable business change. They will do this working with a variety of Business functions on strategic projects, small changes, support tickets or process improvements. They will also be expected to liaise with other business stakeholders (e.g. Legal and Compliance) and support their requirements.

The Senior Business Analyst will use excellent analytical and communication skills, together with a wide range of tools and techniques to help elicit functional and non-functional requirements and articulate these into backlogs of work. They will also look to share their knowledge and skills within the Business Analysis community.

The Senior Business Analyst will use their experiences of working within an Agile change environment and with different Agile frameworks/methodologies (e.g. SCRUM, Kanban, SAFe) to support the delivery of business value.


  • Input to the group operating model by providing updates where changes are found. Encourage the use of the operating model as a tool for analysis (where appropriate).

  • Contribute to the improvement of methods used. Undertake, programme and project level, analysis and design using the agreed team framework and methods. Delivery of which will be measured by agreed KPIs.

  • Undertake project level feasibility / assessments of change initiatives using appropriate methods and tools and within the agreed framework and principles e.g. using capability based impact approach.

  • Appreciate the key elements of the group strategy.

  • Contribute to the yearly business planning cycle by providing updates on work-in-progress if required.

  • Where appropriate, accountable for maintaining design principles (or taking action where principles broken) for programme/project level change.

  • Work in congruence with Agile principles wherever possible.

  • Keep up-to-date with the change methodology, work within it and where possible suggest improvements to the relevant analysis and design stages.

  • Accountable for identifying and taking action to maintain and improve competence areas as identified together with the line manager.

Skills and Experience required

  • Work experience with agile business analysis techniques at a project level (essential).

  • Previous experience of working within an Agile change environment (essential) and with different Agile frameworks/methodologies e.g. SCRUM, Kanban, SAFe (desirable).

  • Experience of managing inter-dependent work-packages (desirable).

  • Experience of communicating ideas or detail to a group of people.

  • Experience of the Financial Services industry, ideally with a Life & Pensions company (highly desirable).

  • Experience of working on regulatory, data programmes and projects. This includes data transformation, migration and conversion.
